Site icon Growing Up Not Old

About

My name is Karen Paris. I have been working since I was 21 old years old. I have worked for the federal government, been an entrepreneur, worked in private industry, non-profits and educational institutions. I have even worked for a few years as a “stay at home” mom. Yes, that’s a job.

I began this blog when I was contemplating retirement over two years ago. Now I am retired, sort of. I have a part-time job that sometimes overflows into full-time, but I am still very interested in what people are doing in retirement. And apparently you are as well. I get many people asking about when my next blog is coming out. Admittedly I have been remiss in attending to my blog, but since it’s January and time for resolutions, I’m starting again. Thank you for going on this adventure with me.

What does retirement look like to you?

Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.

Mark Twain

You don’t stop laughing when you grow old, You grow old when you stop laughing.

George Bernard Shaw

Retirement is not the end of the road. It is the beginning of the open highway.
